Hergé Museum

Fanny Rodwell’s dream

On the outskirts of the Park of the Spring (Parc de la Source), an elongated prism with big bay windows and a colourful interior, lies like a ship run aground at the very mouth of Louvain-la-Neuve.

This museum dedicated to Hergé was dreamed up and designed by the architect Christian de Portzamparc. In an architectural framework blending the audacious with the aesthetic, the Hergé Museum exhibits a graphical heritage of extraordinary richness, a wonderful palette of colours as the backdrop to a mythical masterpiece, that of the Master of the Clear Line.

There are permanent or thematic exhibitions distributed through 9 rooms, with different décors, which invite you to follow the trail of Tintin and the other Hergé characters through drawings, original sketches, gouache paintings, film excerpts, objects, models and photos.

The world of Hergé, creator of Tintin, is above all visual, but the experience offered here at the Hergé Museum is also for your ears! Whether with an auto guide or a real one, let yourself be whisked away to the fascinating world of one of the greatest practitioners of the seventh art.
