The Municipal Collector of Taxes is personally responsible for managing the municipal finances and checking the legality of the income and expenditure transactions carried out in relation to the finances. The official's auditing role is increasingly extending into the management realm

In common with the Municipal Clerk, the Collector of Taxes is appointed by the Council.
