For combating social exclusion and preventing delinquency The community development unit promotes social inclusion, community relations and the prevention of delinquency.

Co-funded by the Walloon Region (Neighbourhood Prevention Plan) and the Federal State (Prevention and Security Contract) and attached to the City's Social department, the "community development unit" organises its activities on the basis of three themes:

social and cultural integration
local communities living together and their harmonious integration

preventing delinquency

Two of the unit's six members of staff are in charge of coordination (one project officer and an administrative coordinator), while seven operate in the City's centres (Ottignies and Louvain-la-Neuve) and the seven underprivileged neighbourhoods.
